Wild Garlic infused Oil!

Close up of fresh green crop leaves growing in sunlight

Wil Garlic season is here… so what better way to celebrate than with a recipe!

This Wild Garlic infused Oak Smoked Oil was sent to us by one of our customers, Archie (click here for his Instagram account), and it’s a great way to add a kick of Spring to your cooking!

To make it, all you will need is:

The method is really very simple…

  1. Blanche your wild garlic leaves for no more than a minute in boiling water
  2. Drain and squeeze out any excess water
  3. Roughly chop
  4. Blend the wild garlic in a food processor with equal parts Oak Smoked Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil
  5. Pass the mixture through a fine sieve
  6. Voila!

Here are some key foraging guidelines:

  • Always seek permission before foraging. In certain areas, plant species will be protected so it is important to do some research and check with the landowner before you start gathering.
  • Only pick from areas that have a plentiful supply and only collect a small amount for personal use.
  • Leave enough for wildlife and avoid damaging habitats
  • Never pick protected species or cause permanent damage. Britain’s wild plants are all protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981), which makes it illegal to dig up or remove a plant.
